Spoffin has received a contribution from EFFEA, the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists, and the Baltic Culture Fund. Every year the Amersfoort outdoor theater festival chooses a focus country, and this year the focus is on the Baltic States. In the context of this focus year, EFFEA and the Baltic Culture Fund awarded the contributions. The allocated money will be used to support a total of five performances.
A total of 57 residencies have been supported by the EFFEA. These translate into 57 emerging artists (individuals or collectives) presented by 159 festivals from 35 countries, proposing to work in 18 artistic disciplines.
At Spoffin, the EFFEA contributes to Accompany ME (LT/IT), who will do a residency at the Amersfoort outdoor theater festival this year. The Baltic Culture Fund contributes to projects that promote the internationalization of Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian culture. They have contributed to three residencies and three regular performances.
The performances that have received contributions from the Baltic Culture Fund are by Accompany ME (LT/IT), Art for Rainy Days (Lv/LT/UK) and Kanta Company (LT), Big Wolf Company (EE) and Jurate Sirvyte Rukstele and Adrian Schvarzstein (LT/ES).
The new work from the residencies and the existing performances can be seen this summer from 23 to 25 August during the fourteenth edition of Spoffin. The complete festival program will be announced on July 1. Keep an eye on Spoffin's website and social media for more information.
