 28-10-2016 Spoffin, the international festival for street and site specific theatre in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, has opened a public call to performers across Europe to apply for Spoffin LAB, a residency project supporting young theatre artists who are in the process of finishing a new project created for public space. During the month of August 2017 Spoffin LAB offers the opportunity to assemble a new production which will premiere during the Spoffin festival (August 24-27, 2017).

Makers are invited to apply with a well-established artistic proposal. The deadline for the application is January 31, 2017. Spoffin LAB offers among other things free use of a residency space and a guesthouse, at least two performances during the Spoffin festival, including the premiere, assistance from the festival in finding the right site or venue for the performances and the possibility for a short presentation for professional guests during the Spoffin PRO meeting. Artist will have to work independent.

Previous residency's
Spoffin LAB 2016 was granted to HURyCAN (FR/AR) and Cie. Woest (NL/BE). Previous editions residenties were used by Walkwoman (FR/SE) and Sheyda Darab (Iran/Netherlands) to work on new productions. Performer Sandrina Lindgren (Sweden) and puppeteer Ishmael Falke (Finland) worked on their site specific city tour, Dead Ends - The art of urban animation during Spoffin LAB 2013. The first Spoffin residency was granted to Cie. Ara Dona (Berlin, Germany) in 2011. They performed their site-specific performance in the beautiful surroundings of Armen de Poth, a medieval almshouse courtyard in Amersfoort.
