Performed in a bed of soil Rodadoras explores themes of femicide and eco-feminism. Through a rhythmical jig of floor work three female dancers roll, fall and slam into the earth; their bodies becoming fully immersed in their surroundings. Shielded behind their hair which is tossed about and flailing, as though a protagonist, the performers are morphed into otherworldly creatures.
Rodadoras is a 20 minute intimate outdoor work using contemporary dance and capoeira. It crosses the boundaries of dance and performance art and is set to an original score of Neapolitan folk music.
Rodadoras is currently beig developed from a 7minute scratch into a 20minute outdoor tourable work funded and supported by Arts Council England, Appetite, Birmingham Hippodrome, DanceXchange, Deda, Derby Feste, East London Dance, Hofesh Shechter and University of Wolverhampton
